Milwaukee County ZOO Train

Changes are coming to the Milwaukee County ZOO if you like steam engines you maybe interested in this according to the ZOO, they will be retiring the famous 1900’s steam engine fleet. The media spokesperson for the Zoo told Cuppa with Ben Podcast that they will be selling the two steam engines later this year to a museum in up north Wisconsin. according to a media release the 1916 engine will be leaving the zoo for the last time will be on the 1st of April and the 1924 will be leaving the zoo on the 31 of October so there is still time to ride the steam engines before they roll off into the sunset.

The two steam engines will be replaced by two new desal locomotives with new coaches.  The museum that the steam engines are going to is called the Riverside and grater northern museum they are located at N115 County Road N Wisconsin Dells, WI 53965 according to the museum’s website. You can also ride the trains at the museum so you can still ride the 1916 engine and the 1924 engine after the depart the Zoo in Milwaukee you will just have to drive to the Wisconsin Dells.

This will be completed by the winter of 2025 according to the zoo’s media release.
