Gurnee IL – The Gurnee Police Department is hosting a youth Citizens Academy on Monday the 6th of July – Friday the 10th of July 2026 at the Gurnee Police Department from 9 AM – 4 PM each day this one-week program begins on the 6th and ending on the 10 this is a free program and space is limited. The age range is 15 to 18 for the program and Students who are entering high school or already in high school. This is a great program to join and a great opportunity for high school students who wish to become police officers after they graduate collage and to grow a relationship with Gurnee Police Officers. This is for High School students only and it’s not a Citizens academy for adults. Participants will learn patrol operations, evidence collection, and crime scene investigations, defensive tactics demonstrations, and much more activities in a hands-on and interactive sating lead by the Gurnee Police.
The Gurnee Police Department also stated in the media release that this program is designed to be both educational and engaging, allowing students to experience many of the tools and techniques officers use while also learning about the role of police in maintaining safe communities.

Classes will be healed at the Gurnee Police Department Located at 100 O’Plaine Rd, Gurnee, IL 60031 on Monday the 6th of July – Friday the 10th of July 2026 at from 9 AM – 4 PM each day this is a one-week program.
