Gurnee Illinois – Memorial Day is right around the corner and it also marks the unofficial start of the summer season that means there will be a lot of travelers and more on the roads on Friday 22 of May to Monday 25 of May. The Gurnee police announced that they will be kicking off click it or ticket to make sure all drivers driving though Illinois got their seat belt on they are starting on Friday the 15th of May to Wednesday the 27th of May to make the roads saver for everyone they will also be watching out for distracted drivers.

The Gurnee police also want to remind all drivers that the Illinois law requires all drivers and passengers to wear seat belts. While usage has increased to 93% in 2025, unrestrained fatalities remain a concern, especially at night.

According to the AAA website AAA said that 45.1 Million people are expected to travel by Car, train, or by plane darning the holiday weekend.
